Qi2 25W wireless charging support is set to roll out to most iPhone 16 models next month.

In a press release announcing its latest wireless chargers, Belkin revealed that “Qi2 25W wireless technology charges iPhone 16 from 0-50% in 25 minutes using iOS 26 or newer”. Currently, the iPhone 16/16 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max only support 25W wireless charging speeds through a newer version of Apple’s MagSafe Charger.

This means in the near future, owners of the iPhone 16 series will be able to enjoy 25W wireless charging speeds with iOS 26 and any compatible Qi2 25W wireless charger – and not just Apple’s own MagSafe charger.

The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) introduced the Qi2 25W standard last month. Formerly known as Qi v2.2.1, it delivers “nearly 70% more power than the original Qi2”.

The iPhone 17 is rumoured to support up to 50W wireless charging speeds. While initial reports linked this to the Qi2 25W standard, it now appears Apple may reserve the higher speeds for MagSafe.
