They added that no one was trapped in the van, and that information regarding where it was had been passed onto police and The Environmental Agency.

In a post shared on Facebook on Friday, February 6, a spokesperson for the fire station said: “Emergency services are aware of the Asda van that has moved from the Ford at Neen Savage and is now at Walfords Bridge.

“There [are] no persons trapped and information has been passed on to the police and Environmental Agency.”

In the comments, one person said: “When we lived at Neen Savage same thing happened to a box van about 15 years ago.

“Got stuck halfway between Walfords bridge and the Ford. Very expensive recovery!”

Another added: “Literally this was my shopping going down the river. Thankfully the driver was ok.”

One person joked: “Ya can’t park there.”

The news came after much of the region endured heavy rain this week causing issues with flooding.

Cleobury Mortimer Fire Station later added that they had been called out to a number of instances of cars trapped in water.

They said: “In the past 24 hours, our team has responded to two incidents involving vehicles caught in floodwaters.

“Thankfully, both drivers are safe.

“We want to remind everyone to avoid driving through any floodwater and to plan your journeys carefully.”
