The enhanced centre could also be used by companies in financial services, healthcare and gaming.
In January, the government published its AI Opportunities Action Plan, external, which outlined how it aims to accelerate the building of data centres.
It wants to boost the UK’s AI capabilities and has set up the Sovereign AI Unit, external, investing £500m in it.
Pulsant, which has data centres across the UK, hopes its upgraded Milton Keynes site, which is within the Oxford‑Cambridge technology corridor, can offer fast connections to major hubs in London and Slough.
CEO Rob Coupland said UK digital infrastructure had “unprecedented demand”.
“The £10m expansion of our Milton Keynes data centre is another big investment in our digital platform to meet hunger for high density compute power,” he added.
