Sharp-eared EastEnders fans heard a huge blunder in a recent episode, as a moment where one actor had to be whispered his lines was kept in the show.
During an episode that aired on 2 February, a scene involving Aaron Thiara as Ravi Gulati and James Farrar as Zack Hudson played out in the Queen Vic.
At one point in the scene, a whispered voice could be heard saying one of Aaron’s lines: “I cant even speak to my kids about it right now.”
Aaron says the line immediately after the prompt. It is not clear if he had been struggling to remember his line, but whispered lines are often used to help actors out. Ordinarily, they are edited out of the final cut, but it was left in for this episode.

Fans picked up on the moment, which happened roughly 23 minutes in. One took to TikTok to call out the mistake and push the BBC to “start cracking down on quality control”.
Alongside a clip of the moment, they said: “How did they approve this? Listen closely with volume up. Someone whispers Ravi’s line to him: ‘I can’t even speak to my kids about it right now’.”
In the caption, they continued: “Oopsie!! Also this is no hate to the actors in the slightest, nor hate at all to anyone. Simply pointing out a mistake as been coming across lots of ones like these recently. Hopefully someone from BBC sees this and can start cracking down on quality control.”
This is not the first mistake the soap has made this year. During the New Year’s flashforward, the soap debuted Stephen Aaron-Sipple as Mark Fowler Jr, but kept his identity secret by not including his name and crediting him as ‘Man’. However, for fans using audio description, there was one moment where someone describing the man called him ‘Mark’.

“The audio description has identified the man Max waved at as ‘Mark’ – the same man mystery man who was part of that Lauren, Oscar, Peter, Jack conversation,” one fan wrote on X. “Is this Mark Fowler Jr?”
Like most fans, actor Stephen was initially kept in the dark about his role. When he auditioned for the part, he had absolutely no idea who he was auditioning as.
He explained: “It’s been absolutely incredible. I have had so many moments on set where I have to step back and really take in that I get to perform with these amazing actors, such as Steve McFadden, Gillian Taylforth and Adam Woodyatt, just to name a few. When I auditioned, I wasn’t told it was for Mark Fowler Jr, so when it was confirmed, it was a very exciting moment.
“On my first day, I had a break in my filming schedule and asked if I could go onto Albert Square, walk around, and just breathe it all in. It was a very surreal moment, growing up watching it on the TV, to then be stood there. It’s a moment that I won’t forget.”
