Burnley manager Scott Parker on what positives he sees at the moment, after Saturday’s defeat to relegation rivals West Ham left the Clarets 11 points from safety and prompted boos from the home crowd and chants for his sacking: “It’s a tough question for me that sits in this position at this present moment in time where anything I say that is positive is only going to add more fire to this situation.
“That is the reality. Anything I say regarding us as a group, the positive results of coming out with three draws against big teams, the positive results at the beginning of the season where we were hugely competitive, really is something that will probably be frowned up and antagonise the situation even more.
“I want to be really careful regarding that. There is and has been [positives] but at this moment in time I am wary of that because of the situation, certainly coming out of the back of the weekend.
“I am not stupid, I understand where everyone is.
“Like I have said, before there have been many, many positives. I said it after the game, what changes it is winning. That’s a word that’s easy to say, but that is the only way us as a group, me as a manager and this team can probably get some air.
“We can only get it by winning.”
