Emmerdale spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX and YouTube.
Emmerdale has only just brought back Graham Foster to the village, but it looks like his alliance with Joe Tate might be hitting the rocks already, if tonight’s episode is anything to go by. In the latest instalment, Victoria Sugden protested to her brother Robert that it was wrong for Moira Dingle to be sent to prison for Celia Daniels’s crimes, and Robert went to warn Joe, convinced she was imminently going to the police.
“She’s got this moral backbone that none of us can get our heads around,” Robert explained, before Victoria herself appeared.
Graham himself then walked in as Joe tried to convince Victoria that she had no evidence to convince the police that Moira was being framed, but if she wanted to go to the authorities, she might as well also confess to killing John.
“Stop goading her,” Graham interrupted, but Joe continued to drive a wedge between the siblings.
Graham approached Victoria in the village later on, and apologised for Joe’s behaviour.

She asked Graham why he came back, and Graham replied that Joe “is like a son to me”.
“I don’t condone Joe’s behaviour, but he’s not always like this. And when he is I just have to put up with it. I do try to be a positive influence,” he stated, although Victoria wasn’t having any of it.
After she talked about all the crazy things that had happened in the village, both recently and over her lifetime, Graham suggested she take the money Joe was offering, and use it to start a fresh new life elsewhere.

Graham’s words got through to Victoria, as she went to Joe’s to sign the contract, although she demanded to take a day to read over everything before agreeing.
After the Sugden siblings left, Graham made his feelings known: “She shouldn’t be in this position. Blackmailing a vulnerable woman, framing another for murder. Is this really who you are now? You’ve learned all of this from Kim.”
“Oh no. This is all me,” a smug Joe replied.

“Can’t say I’m very impressed,” Graham said, before Joe cut him off: “I stopped trying to impress you the moment I thought you were dead… I’m not changing for you, or for anyone.”
Is their fractured relationship set to hit the rocks?
