If you have a raccoon problem, then you know they’re always thinking with their stomachs. They’ll do just about anything for a morsel of food. They’ll even break into a house! One woman wasn’t surprised when she saw raccoons attempting to bust through the back door of her house. But if you ask me, the little guy was just hoping to get invited in for some cake.

Something tells me that Amanda Bumann has been battling the raccoons in her yard for a while now. So she was not surprised when she saw one trying to figure out the lock on her door.

I guess you never really know who is at your backdoor, do you? It might be a friendly neighbor looking to borrow a cup of sugar — or it might be some hungry raccoons looking to eat a cup of sugar. In this case, it was the latter!

“They’re finally doing it. They’re trying to learn how to get into the house,” Bumann said from behind the camera.

The raccoon really was hanging from the woman’s doorknob. Its eyes were locked on the cake she had sitting on the counter. Who could blame the little guy? He wanted some dessert.

“Definitely going to have to keep that door locked from now on,” the woman added.

People in the comments section were dying. Everyone could tell the little guy had one thing on his mind.

“Raccoon: ‘…you gonna eat that cake or what?’” joked one commenter.

“Ma’am he only has one goal in mind,” someone else teased.

“What happens if they learn how to pick the lock?” another commenter wondered.

“Well how are they going to domesticate themselves if they’re not allowed to come inside and learn inside manners?” asked another person.

Should You Feed Raccoons in Your Yard?

They might look really cute and friendly. What could a little human food do — hurt them? Well yes actually. No matter how much the raccoons in your yard might want some of your dinner, you shouldn’t give it to them. It can do more harm than good!
