The Australian is the early frontrunner to step into the Parkhead hot seat when Martin O’Neill leaves the role
Ange Postecoglou
Out-of-work Ange Postecoglou has made a rare public appearance after his ill-fated spell at Nottingham Forest.
It comes with the Greek-Australian being among the favourites to replace Martin O’Neill at Celtic when his contract comes to an end in the summer. The 60-year-old was shown the door at the City Ground after just eight games in the hotseat.
He left in the midst of a Premier League relegation scrap, but the club’s fortunes have not improved under his successor Sean Dyche. It was Postecoglou’s second sacking in just three months after a 17th place Premier League finish saw him axed despite ending the club’s silverware drought.
Postecoglou has recently picked up a role on UEFA‘s Technical Observer Panel. That sees him work alongside the likes of Rafa Benitez, Roberto Martinez and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Now Postecoglou has given a surprise talk in Norway to revisit his time at Spurs following in his first public cameo after leaving Forest. The Daily Mail showed the boss at the University of Agder in Kristiansand delivering a tactical analysis of a Tottenham game.
The discussion comes after his former Celtic ally Anton McElhone opened up on his time working with the boss. Postecoglou left Glasgow for North London following two successful seasons – including a Treble in his final campaign as boss.

He insists that European success could have followed Posteocglou if he had stuck with the Hoops beyond 2021. Former Head of Sports Science Elhone told World Football Index: “He’s a colossus.
“A legendary leader. His clarity, people management, and understanding of the game are elite.
“You always knew what was required. He held people accountable but trusted staff to do their jobs.
“If he’d stayed longer at Celtic, I genuinely believe further European success was possible. We went to places like Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen playing fearless football.
“He’s a Premier League level manager, and he’s proven that.”
