Bruno Fernandes has undeniably been Manchester United’s most influential player since he signed for the club six years ago.
After winning Manchester United Player of the Year for a fourth time last season, Bruno Fernandes remains a key player, even under Michael Carrick as interim head coach.
Fernandes has contributed to United’s recent unbeaten run in the Premier League, including the previous five matches under Carrick that ended in four wins.
The 31-year-old United captain is under contract until 30 June 2027, with the option of a further year.

Fernandes’ performance each season has often led to questions about where United would be without his presence in midfield.
In terms of consistency at the top level, Fernandes is in a league of his own, even if he doesn’t see it that way.

There’s a reason United fans call Fernandes their Portuguese Magnifico.
The magnificent Portugal international has been the talisman at United for a long time, including in some difficult years where he pulled the team out of some tricky situations.
Fernandes passed the milestone for 200 goal contributions as a United player recently, but now his aim will be to end the season as strongly as possible to ensure the team qualifies for the Champions League.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Fernandes says he disagrees with fans who question where United would be without him.
“I don’t want to hype myself up, but I think that’s me,” Fernandes said in a humble manner.
“The problem is, people always say that ‘where would the team be without me?’ It’s not something I agree with, but I think it’s me, yeah.”

This is something Ineos will need to consider in the summer amid claims Fernandes still has interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.
It would be a massively unpopular decision among United fans if Fernandes were sold at the end of the season because it would be an extremely difficult task to replace him.
