Horror fans can catch three classic films on the big screen as part of a cinema’s scary movie marathon.

The one-off event sees some of the best-loved slasher flicks in history played back-to-back at Bluewater’s Showcase Cinema de Lux.

Film fanatics can buy one ticket to see three heart-pounding blockbusters at the shopping centre in Greenhithe, between Gravesend and Dartford, in a single night.

The triple bill of retro movies includes Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream.

Friday the 13th, the film that introduced killer Jason Voorhees to terrified cinema-goers, made its screen debut in 1980 and was one of the earliest hits of the slasher genre.

Just a few years later, in 1984, Robert Englund took on the hair-raising role of Freddy Krueger, a child murderer who hunts teenagers in their dreams, in the first Nightmare on Elm Street film.

Wes Craven’s Scream kicked off this multi-million-dollar franchise in 1996, with the infamous Ghostface making his first appearance as he torments Sidney Prescott and the other high school students of Woodsboro.

Jon Dixon, UK marketing director at Showcase Cinemas, said: “Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some, but not at Showcase Cinemas. Our terrifying triple bill gives audiences the chance to relive scares from three iconic flicks from days gone by.

“Whether it’s Jason’s pursuit, Freddy Krueger’s nightmarish menace, or the sight of Ghostface, these ‘slashback’ films are a scream-filled celebration of horror at its finest.”

Tickets cost £19.99 and can be booked online here.

The horror movie marathon takes place on Friday, February 13. Screening starts at 7.15pm.
