Hull FC head coach John Cartwright has named his 21-man squad ahead of Saturday’s Super League opener against Bradford Bulls at the MKM Stadium.

The Black and Whites are expecting a big crowd of over 16,000 for the clash, with Will Pryce and Lewis Martin both named after missing last week’s Challenge Cup game at Salford with minor issues. Pryce had a tight hamstring and Martin a hip complaint. Neither player was risked but they are both now fully fit and ready to go.

Elsewhere, Liam Knight is included and set for a first appearance since breaking his foot last July. The prop missed the cup game and pre-season friendly at Wigan after copping a head knock in training but after passing all the return-to-play protocols, he is available for selection once again.

Knight joins the likes of Aidan Sezer and Zak Hardaker in Hull’s squad, with new recruits Jake Arthur, Harvie Hill, Joe Batchelor, Sam Lisone, Arthur Romano, and Connor Bailey all named. Ligi Sao is also set for his first Super League appearance in a year, while the Kemp twins, Callum and Lloyd, are both included in the extended squad.

Meanwhile, Hull will be without four key forwards in Herman Ese’ese (Achilles), Jed Cartwright (head), John Asiata (hamstring), and James Bell (knee). Cartwright should be back for the Wigan game next week, with Ese’ese targeting an April return. Asiata and Bell are being managed and should the club be confident that they are 100% and ready to go, they could be back by round four.

As for Bradford, head coach Kurt Haggerty has named FC loanee Ed Chamberlain in the side, who is free to play against his parent club. Former Hull players Jayden Okunbor, Connor Wynne, and Leon Ruan are also included.
