A brand new State of Play has just ended, and it was filled with exciting announcements concerning the future of PlayStation 5. From a God of War side-scrolling spin-off that is out today to a remake of the original trilogy to a brand-new Castlevania and even a John Wick game, there was a ton of big surprises and new looks at games that are almost here.

God of War: Sons of Sparta Side-Scrolling Spin-off Out Today, and God of War Trilogy Remake Announced
To end the State of Play, Sony Santa Monica not only revealed that it is currently working on a remake of the original God of War trilogy, but also that it is releasing the long-rumored God of War: Sons of Sparta side-scrolling spin-off today!
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, a New 2D Castlevania Game, Announced
In celebration of Castlevania’s 40th anniversary, Konami has announced Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. This game from Evil Empire and Motion Twin is a stylized 2D game that’s set to be released in 2026.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora Kicks Off the State of Play
Kena: Scars of Kosmora is the sequel to 2021’s Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and it kicked off the State of Play in a big way with some gorgeous visuals and animations from developer Ember Lab. In this new story, Kena is an accomplished Spirit Guide and she travels to the mysterious island of Kosmora to seek a cure for her affliction and to “reconnect with a friend from her past.” When there, she faces a corruption that fractures her staff, and she needs to accept Kosmora’s forgotten and dangerous form of Spirit Guiding that manipulates the elements. And yes, she will be meeting more adorable spirit companions.
Saber Interactive Announces New John Wick Game
Keanu Reeves is back (at least his likeness) in a new, currently untitled John Wick game from Saber Interactive.
“Created in collaboration between Saber, Lionsgate, and franchise director Chad Stahelski, the new ‘Untitled John Wick Game’ will feature an original script set in the John Wick timeline, expanding on the franchise’s intricate lore with familiar characters fans already know, as well as completely new ones,” the official description reads.
“Saber’s design will be faithful to the unique style and signature elements of the series, including a distinct gun fu combat system, jaw-dropping camerawork, immersive driving experiences, and a variety of memorable environments, all crafted to make players feel like they are in a John Wick movie, playing the role of John Wick himself.”
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Finally Frees MGS4 from the PS3 With August Release Date
Konami has officially revealed Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, and it is bringing remasters of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel to PS5 on August 27, 2026.
Ghost of Yotei Legends DLC Will Add 4-Player Co-Op to The Game in Early March
