Wakefield Trinity, Hull FC, Bradford Bulls and Toulouse Olympique have named their preliminary squads for the opening round of the Super League season.

Bradford make their long-awaited return to Super League, after being out of the top flight for 12 seasons. They take on John Cartwright’s Hull FC, who after missing out narrowly on the finals in 2025, will be hoping to avoid any slip-ups in their quest to return to the top six.

Meanwhile, Trinity host Toulouse Olympique, in a repeat of the 2024 Championship Grand Final. Daryl Powell’s side emerged victorious that day, but Houles’ Olympians need little motivation for victory, in what is their first top flight match since their relegation in 2022.

Hull FC, Wakefield Trinity and other Super League teams confirm 21-man squads

Hull FC:

Lewis Martin returns to the side after missing the Challenge Cup win over Salford. Last season’s top try-scorer will be hoping to continue his impressive finishing ability into the new campaign.

Jed Cartwright is missing from the squad after the back rower failed a HIA in last week’s Cup game, meaning that Connor Bailey could get a chance to start in his place.

Harvie Hill, Sam Lisone and Jake Arthur are all set for their Super League debuts with FC, following their respective moves to the club this off-season.

Bradford Bulls:

Jayden Nikorima remains absent from the side, after he picked up a leg injury in training. The former Salford man is set to miss around a month of action, in what is a crucial blow to Kurt Haggerty’s side.

Ethan Ryan picked up a rib injury in the Challenge Cup win over London Broncos, and as a result will miss out in the Super League opener.

Bradford Bulls 21-man squad: Andy Ackers, Caleb Aekins, Waqa Blake, Ed Chamberlain, Eribe Doro, Brandon Douglas, Zac Fulton, Luke Hooley, Joe Keyes, Loghan Lewis, Esan Marsters, Joe Mellor, Rowan Milnes, Jayden Okunbor, Eliot Peposhi, Leon Ruan, Dan Russell, Ebon Scurr, Mitch Souter, Ryan Sutton, Connor Wynne.

Wakefield Trinity:

New signing Jazz Tevaga is set for his first Trinity appearance, after missing the pre-season win over Hull KR and the Challenge Cup win against Swinton.

The absentees for Wakefield this week are outside backs Oliver Pratt, Tom Johnstone and Jayden Myers, meaning that coach Daryl Powell will have to rely on his depth options to step up against the French side.

Ky Rodwell is another absentee. The prop has had a torrid time with injury in his Wakefield career, having only made nine appearances in Super League last year.

Mason Lino, who has been rewarded the number seven jersey for his efforts in 2025, will look to continue that form in 2026, as he partners Jake Trueman in the halves.

England international and Trinity captain Mike McMeeken will be hoping for a consistent campaign to keep his place in the national side ahead of this year’s World Cup.

Toulouse Olympique:

Tyler Dupree will make his official debut in Toulouse colours after signing from Wigan Warriors on loan, whilst fellow new signings Luke Polselli, Henry O’Kane and Cesar Rouge are included.

Olly Ashall-Bott is expected to line-up at full-back, The former Huddersfield and Widnes man is one of many players in the side that were with the club in their 2022 Super League campaign.
