George and Nicola celebrate their gender reveal
A gender reveal and a shocking announcement(Picture: BBC)

There should be nothing but balloons, cake and happy tears in Walford next week, but this is EastEnders, so of course things don’t stay sweet for long.

George and Nicola gather their nearest and dearest at Harry’s Barn to share some very big news: the gender of their baby. After weeks of speculation and excitement, the families come together for what’s meant to be a joyful reveal.

And for a moment, it is.

The drinks are flowing, everyone’s in high spirits, and George and Nicola are genuinely thrilled as they prepare to step into this next chapter. But the good vibes don’t last.

Just as everyone is basking in the happy atmosphere, Kojo drops a bombshell that no one saw coming.

Pulling George and Harry aside, Kojo admits he’s been struggling. As much as he appreciates everything that’s been done for him, he’s missing his independence, and he’s made a decision. He wants to move back into his old flat.

The announcement hits George hard. He’s been protective of Kojo and clearly worries about him coping alone. The timing couldn’t be worse either, landing right in the middle of what was supposed to be a carefree family celebration.

While George can’t hide his concern, Harry takes a different approach. Rather than making it about his own feelings, he chooses to respect Kojo’s wishes. In fact, he goes one step further, deciding that if Kojo is moving back, he’ll move in too, despite the trauma attached to their old abode.

It’s a gesture that says a lot about where Harry’s head is at right now.

Before long, it’s moving day. Boxes are packed, the reality of the situation starts to sink in, and there’s a bittersweet atmosphere hanging in the air. To mark the fresh start, Harry, Gina and Penny head out to celebrate.

Things take an awkward turn when Penny puts her foot firmly in it. In an attempt at humour, she makes a joke about Harry’s Casanova behaviour, poking fun at his romantic track record. While it might have been meant lightly, it doesn’t land well.

The comment clearly stings, especially with Gina there, and the mood shifts. Old tensions bubble up, and it becomes obvious that there’s still unresolved history simmering beneath the surface.

Later, though, Penny tries to make amends by offering Harry some advice. Encouraging him to stop dancing around the issue and be honest about how he feels, she pushes him to extend an olive branch to Gina.

In a moment that fans have been waiting for, Harry and Gina finally talk things through. Walls come down, misunderstandings are cleared up, and there’s a softness between them that’s been missing for a while.

The reconciliation ends in a kiss, but in true EastEnders fashion, nothing is ever that simple. With Kojo’s move unsettling George and Harry going back to face his demons, how will this play out?
