The Rams head coach was talking about a move which saw Andi Weimann return to Austria and join Rapid Vienna on loan
John Eustace, Manager of Derby County
John Eustace hopes Andi Weimann fulfils his dream of playing in the World Cup this summer, as he confirmed that Derby County do hold an option to extend his contract.
Weimann joined Rapid Vienna on loan for the rest of the season earlier this month as he looks to make the plane for America and compete for the biggest prize in football.
The forward’s move to Vienna had initially been blocked by Derby on deadline day, but the arrival of Sam Szmodics prompted a rethink.
Weimann has already made his debut for Vienna, a club where he was part of their youth system before moving to England.

Eustace is a big fan of Weimann for what he contributes on and off the pitch having arrived from Blackburn Rovers last summer on a one-year deal.
But he said he could not promise him the minutes he requires to keep his World Cup dream intact.
“We have an option on him, but he wanted to go and play,” he said.
“”He wants to get more minutes, obviously, because of the World Cup.
“We couldn’t guarantee him that, but he’s gone away now to make sure that he gets the minutes to get into that World Cup squad and at his age, what an amazing experience that is.
“He’s been a top performer for me over the last two years and off the field, he’s been top drawer.
“I wish him all the very best and hopefully he can score some goals and make sure he goes to the World Cup.”
