Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has set up a new chapter for Bear Wolf, who made a huge confession during today’s episode. Back in January, Bear killed villain Ray Walters after stepping in when Ray threatened Bear’s son Paddy and Dylan.

Following the murder, Dylan and Paddy attempted to cover up Bear’s crime, with Paddy hiding Bear from the village. While Paddy has been trying to keep Bear’s actions from being exposed, Bear has been struggling with guilt.

In tonight’s (13 February) episode, following a moving conversation with a counsellor, Bear decided to confess to Ray’s murder. After the counsellor called Bear a “good man”, she said it was important that he was kind to himself.

“Good people aren’t murderers,” said a forlorn Bear. “I killed him. I killed Ray. You talk of monsters. Well, I’m one. That’s what he’s made me into.”

When Paddy and Dylan turned up to see how Bear’s session went, they found him being put into a police car in handcuffs. After Paddy asked what was going on, DS Walsh told them that Bear had confessed to the crime.

Despite Paddy’s protests, the counsellor explained that Bear had handed himself into the police after struggling with a guilty conscience. With the storyline seemingly reaching an end point, could another twist occur?

Looking forward to next week’s scenes, Bear will finally be charged for Ray’s murder after admitting to DS Walsh that he was the killer during an interview at the police station.

Following Bear’s confession, he is officially charged with manslaughter, and Paddy tries to talk his dad out of pleading guilty.

“Bear could well be sent down for this,” our Emmerdale source revealed. “Now he’s been charged with manslaughter, the odds are stacked against him.

“Bear’s solicitor reminds Paddy that his dad acted in self-defence so he might get bail, but all hope vanishes when Bear admits that he’s set on entering a guilty plea…”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
