Millie Mackintosh is spending her first Valentine’s Day alone after splitting from her husband Hugo Taylor. And the former Made In Chelsea star, 36, revealed she is having an “alternative” day.

Millie shared her update on Instagram a day before couples across the globe begin to declare their love for each other. Following her marriage breakdown, the reality TV star shared a photo of a London Underground whiteboard which read: “Valentine’s Day Alternatives”.

Suggestions on the board included: “Galentine’s Day – spend it with the girls, Malentine’s Day – spend it with the lads’ and ‘Palentine’s Day – spend it with friends.” Other potential dates included spending it with your pets.

Millie seemed to opt for the girls option and explained how she will be having a dining session for four as she set the table for her pals and poured non-alcoholic drinks.

She wrote: “This year, @sainsburys made Galentine’s feel really easy which is exactly what you want when you’re hosting. Galentine’s is one of my favourite nights of the year, an excuse to get the girls together, get dressed up and actually sit down and enjoy the evening.”

And she confessed she wanted to make things “that bit more special” with her offerings. Millie and Hugo split earlier this month after seven years married. And it appears she has her friends rallying round her as she gets used to single life.

The pair share daughters Sienna, five, and Aurelia, four, and are said to be committed to ensuring the co-parent their kids. Sources insist the pair see the children as their priority and are keen to maintain a lovely family life.

The couple’s romance was first seen on our screens in E4’s Made In Chelsea. They later went on to tie the knot in June 2018. But they’ve called time on their relationship and a source close to the couple exclusively told The Mirror earlier this month that the split was equally agreed on both sides.

They are said to remain on good terms. “Their split was very much amicable. There’s no real reason for their split; it just happens sometimes,” the source said.

It was claimed that the pair, whose relationship had been far from plain sailing, had a “difficult start to the year”. It led to the decision to officially part ways. However, despite the news, it’s thought they may have even split long before it became public knowledge.

As well as her comments on drinking, Millie and Hugo’s social media posts involving each other had dried up. And on a solo getaway, Millie appeared to have ditched her wedding ring.

She also shared a number of thoughtful posts which could have held a hidden message. She admitted her time at the retreat “deeply stripped everything back”.
