Michael McIntyre’s Big Show has been taken off tonight’s TV schedule due to a shake-up on BBC One. The popular Saturday night programme hosted by the 49-year-old comedian will not air at its usual time slot due to BBC’s coverage of The FA Cup. The hit variety show, which first graced our screens in 2015, recently returned for a jam-packed eighth series.
We’ve seen huge stars make guest appearances on the show, whether it be as part of the “Remember Me?” segment or the hilarious “Send To All”, which sees Michael take a famous person’s phone and send a message to all of their contacts.
Last weekend, it was boy band Westlife who fell victim to Michael’s antics when they became the “Unexpected Stars” of the Show.
With the help of The One Show’s Alex Jones, Shane Flan, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan found themselves performing some of their classic hits in front of the audience at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane just moments after taking part in a fake interview with the BBC host.
However, Michael shocked audiences at the end of last week’s show when he announced he’ll be back in a fortnight. Michael McIntyre’s Big Show will not air at its usual time slot tonight on BBC One due to sports coverage on the channel.
Coverage of Aston Villa vs Newcastle begins at 5.30pm ready for a 5.45pm kick-off from Villa Park.
The broadcast lasts until 8pm, which means Michael McIntyre’s Big Show has been removed from the schedule. Gladiators airs at 8pm, followed by The Weakest Link at 9pm.
Last week, viewers were impressed with Alex Jones’ performance on the show and all said the same thing at the end of the broadcast.

Taking to social media, many fans suggested Alex would do a great job at filling an empty role on the BBC, one which is highly sought after at the moment.
When Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced they would be leaving Strictly Come Dancing at the end of the last year, the search immediately began to find the best TV presenters to fill their shoes.
After Michael McIntyre’s Big Show last weekend, BBC viewers agreed Alex Jones would be a great choice. On X, one said: “This Keeping Up With The Jones’ segment is making me think Alex Jones would be great for Strictly.”
A second said: “After watching Alex Jones on #michaelmcintyresbigshow, I wouldn’t mind her doing the Tess role on Strictly.”
