Cllr Lorraine Grocott, Portfolio Holder for Environmental and Neighbourhood Services, said: “This national recognition is a fantastic achievement for Stratford-upon-Avon. Our market is a vibrant showcase of local enterprise and community spirit, and winning Best Large Outdoor Market is a testament to the traders, officers and partners who make it thrive!”
Siobhan Noake, Communications and Engagement Manager at LSD Promotions, said: “We are incredibly proud to see Waterside Upmarket recognised on a national stage. This award is a true reflection of the passion, resilience and creativity of our traders, and the strength of our partnership with Stratford-on-Avon District Council.
“For over 30 years, Waterside has been more than a market. It’s been a centre for local business, creativity and community, and this recognition is a wonderful way to celebrate that legacy while looking ahead to an exciting future.”
Reviewers love the market. One said: “Pretty much every market I’ve been to has been very predictable, too repetitive and fairly uninspiring but there were some real gems here.”
Another described it as a ‘beautiful place’, adding: “Loads of nice stalls and in a great location by the waterside where you can go on boat tours down the water.”
Finding the market
Find the market right in front of the iconic Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, along the waterfront of the River Avon. It returns on March 1 and is open every Sunday and bank holiday from 10am to 5pm.
