Fans of Netflix period drama Bridgerton have been sent into a frenzy following the release of a new trailer for the second half of the latest series which teases the return of a missing character.
The first four episodes of Season 4 were made available on the streaming platform at the end of January, but fans are in the middle of a month-long wait for the concluding four episodes which arrive on February 26.
So far viewers have watched Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) fall head-over-heels for maid, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). The first half concludes after the pair share a steamy moment on a stairwell at the Bridgerton house, with Benedict asking Sophie to be his mistress.

Horrified by the idea of being a second-best option rather than a bride, Sophie flees without answering him. Exactly what will happen next in their love story will be revealed in the second half – and a fresh trailer released yesterday (February 13) offers viewers a hint about where things will go.
In the trailer, Benedict can be seen grappling with the idea of pursuing Sophie fully, but knowing if he did it would cost him his place in society. “I cannot love a maid, and yet you have taken possession of me,” he tells her.

In another scene, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) – who has so far been entirely absent from Season 4 – is shown offering words of advice to his brother. He tells Benedict: “You’ve convinced yourself that she is reason enough to risk everything.”
His fleeting moment on screen has captured the attention of viewers who have been desperate to see Jonathan Bailey’s return to the show.
It is now clear his character will be back for the second half of Season 4, returning from India alongside his wife Kate Bridgerton (Simone Ashley) and their newborn child.
“KATE AND ANTHONY SPOTTED” one eagle-eyed fan penned under the new trailer. “My fav couple. I was waiting for them to appear in this season,” a second added.
“CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THEM AGAIN!!” a third Bridgerton fan gushed. Meanwhile another joked: “I need this season to be over so I can go back to becoming a normal functioning adult.”
Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 arrives on Netflix on February 26. For the latest showbiz, TV, movie and streaming news, go to the new ** Everything Gossip ** website.
