When searching for a new home it’s easy to focus on the property itself, but location plays an equally important role. If you buy a house in an area that is in high demand, you’ll often be able to get a much higher price for it when it comes to selling.

One sought-after part of Greater Manchester was recently named the UK’s ‘best place to live’ in Garrington Property Finder’s annual league table. Marple, a leafy town in Stockport, was ranked no.1 by the property experts, who praised the area for its ‘understated charm and calm’ with its natural beauty and community spirit.

A dream home in Marple, which is on the market for £799,999, has been chosen as our Property of the Week. Each week our M.E.N Property Writer chooses a home that is up for grabs in our region, whether than be for its grand interior, bargain price, or desirable location.

Despite having an average house price of £517,119, which is well above the national average, Marple continues to attract a range of buyers from families to professionals who turn to the town in search for a ‘better lifestyle’, according to local estate agent Tim Ashmore.

This five-bed detached house on Buxton Lane has everything you could ever want and need for a family home, from its 2,000 square foot of living space to its close proximity to the town centre. Finished to the ‘highest standard’ inside and out, the modern home has a rendered facade with large windows that flood the home with natural light.

Set over three floors, the home is entered through a hallway which leads to the gorgeous living room, utility, study and a large open-plan fitted kitchen, living and dining area which opens out onto the landscaped garden. Up on the first floor is a large galleried landing with access to three double bedrooms, including one with its own en-suite, a family bathroom and a fourth bedroom or study.

Up on the second floor is the spacious master bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a dreamy dressing area. There is a gated driveway to the front and an ‘easy to maintain’ garden to the rear with a patio and grass area.

Gascoigne Halman Estate Agents, which is marketing the property, says: “A stylish modern detached family home boasting luxury fixtures and fittings with well planned accommodation over three floors situated close to the centre of Marple. The property has been completely transformed in recent years and now makes for an enviable purchase indeed.

“Marple is a small town situated on the edge of beautiful countryside, yet Manchester city centre is less than 30 minutes away by train. Boasting parks and extensive recreational facilities, it is situated where the Peak Forest and Macclesfield canals meet and the canal towpaths provide extensive and beautiful walks.
