A pub which has been forced to close multiple times in the last few years is set to shut again.
Until recently, Billy Dutton and Kieran-miguel D’la had been running both The Angel in Rainham and the Rising Sun in Rochester.
The Angel in Lower Rainham Road, Rainham, is set to close again
Now, they have announced they are closing The Angel, months after stepping back from the Rising Sun.
The business partners took over The Angel near Riverside Country Park in October 2024, after Vesta Pubs announced they were leaving after only seven months at the helm.
Now, in a post on social media today (Sunday), they said they had made the difficult decision to close the doors.
They wrote: “After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors.
“We want to thank every single person who has walked through them – for the laughs, the music, the celebrations, the friendships and the support.

“You made this place what it was.”
The pair said it had been “an honour’ to serve the community and thanked them from the bottom of their hearts.
It will be the fourth time the pub has changed hands in the last three years.
The business partners had also run the Rising Sun in Rochester for more than three years but announced they were stepping back in December. It has recently been taken over by new owners.
Announcing their decision, they said: “After years of serving pints, hearing your gossip and pretending we didn’t notice you stealing the beer mats, we’ve got an announcement: We are closing!”

“It’s been a tough year for me personally, and it’s time to look after me!
“Thank you for the laughs, the madness, and for keeping us in business even when you insisted on paying in loose change.”
In October 2024, Admiral Taverns, which owns both The Angela and The Rising Sun, invited the duo to work their magic on The Angel, near Riverside Country Park.
At the time, the pub had just undergone a £185,000 facelift.
