It was an all-action Sunday in the Premiership title race and the Hotline phones have been red hot

Celtic’s Julian Araujo celebrates scoring to make it 3-2 with fans

A Super Sunday of title race action is now behind us – but the fallout is only just kicking off on the Hotline.

Celtic left it very, very late to see off Kilmarnock as Julian Araujo netted in the 97th minute to earn the Hoops a 3-2 win and a vital three points. But the performance from Martin O’Neill’s men didn’t impress the punters.

Kenny Wilson, Moffat said: “No idea how Celtic won and I don’t think they deserved too, but that’s what champions do but they won’t get away with these performances any longer. First half was as bad as I’ve seen.

“Hatate, Maeda ,Yang and Adamuwere not at the races. As for Auston Trusty he was like a giraffe on ice the whole game but the changes made the difference, that’s the Sir Martin effect.”

David Beattie, Rothesay called for action from O’Neill: “Celtic need to make permanent changes if they are to win this league. Sinisalo for Schmeichel, Sarrachi for Tierney , Ben Arthur for Trusty, Forrest for Yang and Tounekti for Maeda and The ox for Hatate. Make these changes and Celtic can win this league even with this patched up squad.”

An unhappy Robin Wood questioned the added time at Rugby Park: “It’s getting beyond a joke now with the Scottish officials and referees, what with them adding on extra time until Celtic score. Operation to help the Celtic win the league is in full swing.”

Peter Cooperwhite added: “Are there any other team that carries so much luck that they keep playing till you get a result, then the ref will blow the final whistle?”

Richard Wharton, Carlisle wasn’t having any of it though. He responded: “Can’t wait for all the moans from a certain fan base about winners in added time. Not that they ever get one is it? Get over it, we have had to many times before.

Rangers put out a title statement at Ibrox as they saw off league leaders Hearts – and dent Derek McInnes hopes of taking the Premiership title to Tynecastle.

Confident Alan Flett declared: “What a job Danny Rohl has done! It’s Rangers’ title to lose!

“The January signings look the part and Chermiti is at last beginning to repay his £10m transfer fee.

“Our match officials will no doubt do their best to play on until Celtic score, as that’s the only thing that will stop Rangers now.”

And after his comments earlier in the week, McInnes found himself in the firing line.

Charles Buchanan said: “Have to laugh at McInnes thinking Hearts are starting to annoy people being in top spot.

“He has carried luck with Rangers getting off to a poor start and Celtic dropping 12 points out of a possible 15 due to their troubles.

“The league could change in a matter of weeks. And we will see where Hearts are then.”

John Forster, Sydney took on his fellow Rangers fans after Hotline criticism of Mohamed Diomande and Jayden Meghoma. He said: “Mr Blackwell & Thompson need to get behind the Players. Diomande is not my favourite, but he works hard off the ball & covers players, just like Meghoma.

“That young lad is covering centre halves at our corners and has been providing assists. I remember Souness copping it from Scotland fans for being lazy. They just couldn’t see what he did.

“They just watch the ball, like a cat watching a mouse. C’mon lads & lassies, get behind the Rangers. We could be the most successful club in the world again, very soon.”
