A teenage scooter rider has died after a collision involving multiple vehicles in Tideswell.

The incident happened just before 11pm on Saturday (February 14) and involved a Range Rover and a Lexmoto Diablo scooter on the A623 near the junction with Whitecross Road.

The rider of the scooter, a man in his teens, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Range Rover, a man in his 70s, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been released on bail as enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said the force is now appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who has dashcam footage from the scene.
