Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is still adored within the club and also by current players, with Amad the latest to hail him.
For many fans, Wayne Rooney is Manchester United’s best ever player as he is definitely the best of this decade and sits comfortable as the record goal scorer.
This sees current players also idolising him.
Matheus Cunha picked Rooney as his favourite player growing up and a footballer he tries to play like in his game. Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo has admitted his adoration for Rooney throughout his career.
Now, Amad has joined in with the praise for Rooney.

Amad appeared on the latest episode of Inside Carrington, Amad was asked who his footballing inspirations are, to which he had two answers.
“In my life, my idol was Messi, I always say Messi. Messi is the player I try to learn from.”
The Ivory Coast international then went on to add Rooney to his answer.
“At United, the player I really like was Rooney. When they ask me which player would you love to play with from United history, I say Rooney because he is the player I really, really love.”
This might come as a surprise considering Amad was in a squad with Cristiano Ronaldo and it would have been easy for him to choose the Portuguese star.

Wayne Rooney tried to sign Amad at Derby
Amad loving Rooney shows he is a true United fan, but he actually might have once played under the legend.
Speaking with MUTV last year, Rooney explained he wanted Amad at Derby.
“I think he’s been great,” said Rooney. “I tried to sign him for Derby, when I was at Derby, on loan. I thought I had him, really. I think it was the next day, he went to Rangers out of the blue.
“He has been fantastic, with the goals he’s scored, [his] creativity and work-rate. He’s been a breath of fresh air and, of course, we’d like a few more players to step up.
“It’s been a difficult season, there’s no denying that, all season,” he continued.
“But the new manager has come in and I really like him. The way he handles himself and speaks with the media, he’s been really good. It’s probably more about getting through this season now and, hopefully, starting to implement his style more and getting players in to move the club forward.”
