A broken Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) sparks a shock hostage situation in EastEnders next week as his mental health continues to spiral.
The Walford bad boy recently started self-harming after realising he was responsible for the recent attack on his teenage son Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) while high, after a vengeful Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) and his mum Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) drugged him.
Ravi has also been struggling with becoming a police informant, after striking a deal with local copper Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to keep him out of prison over his cuckooing plot involving Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) and Harry.
With the recently returned Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) also on a mission to find out who is ratting out their mutual criminal associates, the pressure gets too much for Ravi to take in forthcoming scenes.

Next week on the Square begins with Ravi deciding to apply for a job at the car lot. After he gets ready for his interview with Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), it turns out it’s her father Max Branning (Jake Wood), who will be conducting the chat, and things do not go to plan.
With his ego further bruised after a comment from his partner Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy), Ravi’s mood lowers even further.
Having recently lost his Walford East restaurant business, he’s still in desperate need of cash, and when Mark offers him a last-minute job, he agrees to take it on.

However, when Nugget – who was recently diagnosed with epilepsy following his attack – has another seizure, Ravi misses the meet-up, risking consequences from the gang.
Priya is also furious with him for forgetting to pick up their son’s meds, so he rushes to the pharmacy – but when the pharmacist has a problem with dispensing the prescription, it proves to be a huge trigger for Ravi, who locks the door and insists nobody is leaving.
Nugget, Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Bea Pollard (Ronni Ancona) are all caught up in an unfolding hostage situation, and they grow increasingly alarmed when Ravi escalates things further amid his mental anguish.
With Ravi at absolute breaking point, will it be his ex-lover Denise who is finally able to get him to accept help?
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 23rd February at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
