Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street fans are tipping Theo Silverton as the most likely victim of April’s shock death storyline. Todd Grimshaw’s abusive partner has horrified viewers with his nasty behaviour in recent months, but could his reign of terror be nearing an end?
Earlier this week, show bosses named Theo among a list of suspects who could die on the day of Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s wedding on 23 April. This could be the soap’s secret masterplan to give Theo his comeuppance after months of evil behaviour behind closed doors.
Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Maggie Driscoll and Megan Walsh are the other four possibilities, as they’ve all been making waves on the cobbles recently.
On today’s edition of ITV’s This Morning, soaps expert Sharon Marshall revealed that the daytime show had hosted a viewer poll to get to the bottom of the mystery.
The results were decisive, with nearly half of viewers believing that Theo will be the one to meet his maker this spring.

“We put it to the viewer vote – we asked This Morning viewers,” Sharon told show hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary. “44% of you think it’s going to be Theo, followed by Megan at 22% and Carl at 20%.”
These results show that fans are currently focusing on the biggest villains of the moment. Megan has been hiding in plain sight over the past few weeks – abusing her position to groom local teenager Will Driscoll.
Carl has also been up to no good for months – betraying his brother Kevin, cheating on Abi with James, and lying about the circumstances surrounding the Corriedale crash.
Maggie and Jodie were far less prominent in This Morning’s poll, bringing in just 7% each. Maggie has been harbouring a killer secret, as well as testing her family’s patience with her barbed remarks. Meanwhile, Jodie is seemingly on a mission to steal her sister Shona’s life – starting by seducing David.

Despite that, neither character seems to be on fans’ radar in this particular mystery yet…
After announcing the results, Sharon laughed: “I just think, ever since Theo killed Billy, he can go. He’s been horrible – horrible man!”
Corrie provided the first glimpse of the murder story earlier this week, as flashforward scenes showed Betsy Swain at the police station after finding a body on Carla and Lisa’s wedding day.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
