Brisbane Broncos star half Adam Reynolds has aired his version of events after previous reports linking him to World Club Challenge opponents Hull KR.
Reynolds, 35, will line up in the halves tonight alongside Ezra Mam as Brisbane look to win a World Club Challenge for the first time since 1992, having lost three since.
The Broncos did win an expanded 1997 version of the competition but it’s not widely recognised and the NRL champions want to create new history, with Reynolds at the helm.
It might not have been the case though, as the playmaker headed into 2025 off-contract and that off-contract status saw him linked with Super League champions Hull KR.
Prior to Tyrone May signing his new deal following the Robins’ Challenge Cup win, there had been reports from Australia that Hull KR were targeting the veteran half, who has now had his own say on the matter.

Adam Reynolds lifts lid on Hull KR links
“There were rumours about coming over here,” Reynolds admitted to NRL.com, ahead of tonight’s game.
“It was last year or the year before, obviously trying to see if I wanted to extend my career and play a few more years but luckily enough Brisbane gave me an opportunity to go around again and I’m glad I get to do it.”
Reynolds admitted that any move to the UK would likely be on his own with the Brisbane man explaining how difficult it would be to move his family over to the UK.
Had Reynolds made the move then he would have linked up with one man he’s very familiar with and that’s Hull KR coach Willie Peters, with Reynolds paying huge credit to Peters for his work with him whilst at South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Reynolds said: “I’m genuinely excited to see him. He’s a big reason why I am where I am. I had a bit to do with him as a young fella. I probably owe him more than he thinks.”
He also touted Peters as a man with a ‘big future’ with the Robins boss already someone very respected and sought-after in the NRL. A World Club Challenge win would only add to Peters’ credentials, though the Australian is contracted to Hull KR until the end of the 2028 season.
