A number of key Hull KR men would be able to make the step up to the NRL, according to Brisbane Broncos captain Adam Reynolds.
The Broncos were beaten by Rovers on Thursday night as Willie Peters’ side secured world champions status by winning the World Club Challenge 30-24 at the MKM Stadium and the likes of Jez Litten, Dean Hadley and Mikey Lewis were right at the heart of the result.
KR broke away into an 18-0 lead against the Broncos as Tom Amone, Elliot Minchella and Joe Burgess touched down before Oliver Gildart and Peta Hiku got over in the second to give Rovers an insurmountable lead, despite four late Brisbane tries.
And, speaking after suffering defeat in East Yorkshire, Reynolds outlined his belief that several Rovers players could cut the mustard down under.
“There’s a number of players in that team that could easily make the transition to the NRL,” the Broncos skipper said when asked specifically about Litten and whether he’d be good enough for what is considered to be the sport’s premier competition. “He was a big part of their success last year and again tonight.”
On the game itself, Reynolds added: “It’s a reminder that we need to be good from the start.
“There’s no point waiting until half time or 60 minutes into the game to start playing some footy. They’re a great side and they’ve proven that over the last 12-24 months.”

Reynolds will have had an inkling of what to expect from Peters’ Hull KR side, having worked with the head coach during their time together at South Sydney Rabbitohs.
“He’s done a lot of things in a short period of time,” he said on the Robins boss. “I have a great relationship with Willie and I wish it could have been a different way tonight but I wish him all the best.
“He obviously has a great mindset and philosophy and coaching style. A big future whether it’s here or in the NRL.”
