Rangers are set to open contract talks with Nico Raskin.

The Light Blues secured a long-term deal with John Souttar earlier this week. They now want to offer Raskin an improved deal.

They see the Belgian international as one of their top assets. Raskin has a deal which has since been triggered to be extended to the summer of 2028.

His initial contract ran until the summer of 2027 but there was a 12-month extension that has been taken up. The Ibrox side, however, want to extend that agreement further and put him in line with the club’s higher earners.

Rangers have the security of another two years but want to reward the player and further secure his transfer value Raskin looked to be on his way out of Ibrox earlier this season after falling out with former boss Russell Martin.

He has since come back into the fold and under Danny Rohl he has been one of the club’s top performers, adding goals to his game in recent weeks. The 24-year-old joined Rangers from Standard Liege back in 2023.

Rangers also plan to open contract talks with Liam Kelly. The Scotland keeper is up at the end of the campaign but Rangers want to extend that agreement.

Kelly has played back-up to Jack Butland, although he has played in the majority of the domestic cup games.

The 30-year-old is also part of the Scotland set-up and is expected to be part of Steve Clarke’s squad for this summer’s World Cup finals in America.

Rangers also have a decision to make over captain James Tavernier. He is also a free agent and had previously confirmed that initial discussions had taken place.

There are also a couple of options to buy in current loan deals for Andreas Skov Olsen and Derek Cornelius.
