Waterloo Road spoilers follow.
Waterloo Road star Hattie Dynevor has addressed her recent exit from the hit BBC school drama. The actor played student Libby Guthrie, the daughter of history teacher Neil, across five seasons of the show.
Last month’s finale saw the senior class attending their long-awaited prom, before they officially left school for good. The episode marked Dynevor’s final scenes as Libby after two years in the role.
During a Q&A session on Instagram, Dynevor was asked if she had exited the show, with the actor replying (via The Mirror): “Yes. I’ve had the most amazing time on Waterloo Road. It’s taught me so much and I’ve genuinely met some of the best people. Forever grateful for that chapter.”
The news won’t come as much of a surprise to viewers, as they also bid farewell to last year’s senior class following season 16’s prom episode. Hopefully we’ll be seeing Dynevor on our screens again, however, as she teased an “exciting” new project.

“Can’t confirm anything right now, but lots of exciting things in the works,” she shared when asked about her future endeavours.
Elsewhere, season 16 featured the surprise exit of English teacher Jas Sharma, who is played by Lauren Patel. The character left the show in the third episode after her secret side hustle came to light, and she made a swift exit.
