Manchester United winger Antony has sent a message to Diogo Dalot after the full-back’s time in the USA for the Reds’ pre-season tour came to an end.
United’s trip in the States came to an end overnight following the 2-2 draw with Everton in Atlanta, Georgia. Despite being pegged back twice by the Toffees, the Reds finished their stint in the US having remained unbeaten and lifted the Premier League Summer Series trophy in the process.
Following the fixture, United have flown back to the UK to readjust ahead of Saturday’s final pre-season clash against Fiorentina at Old Trafford. Bidding farewell to America, Dalot took to Instagram to share highlights from the tour.
In the comments, Brazilian forward Antony replied with a couple of clapping emojis and a red love heart. The gesture towards his current teammate comes after the winger was not included in Ruben Amorim’s squad for the trip overseas.

At the beginning of pre-season, Antony was one of five players who told the club that they wished to leave to explore other options. The winger, along with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia, were given extended breaks from the first-team as per their wishes to pursue moves elsewhere.
Only Rashford has managed to find himself a new club having joined Barcelona on loan for the season. The quartet, including Antony, have yet to find moves and Amorim has already claimed that a time will come when they will have to be reintegrated into the first-team squad.
In Antony’s case, he has been heavily linked with a move to Real Betis, who he spent the second half of last season on loan with. The winger is believed to be keen to reunite with the Seville club but the Reds want to sell him permanently and that is not something that Betis’ finances will allow.
While the Reds have been away, Antony has remained in Manchester and it remains to be seen if or when he is reintegrated into the United team.
