Jannik Sinner revealed his main priority in 2026 is to win Roland-Garros for the first time and complete a career Grand Slam. The French Open is the only major missing from Sinner’s trophy cabinet and will be shown live on TNT Sports and discovery+ from May 18.Sinner was speaking following a three-set defeat to Jakub Mensik in the Qatar Open quarter-finals, after previously beating Alexei Popyrin and Tomas Machac at the ATP 500 tournament.

It continued a frustrating start to the year for the world No.2, whose defence of the Australian Open ended with a semi-final defeat to Novak Djokovic last month.

However, that hunger to win a fifth Grand Slam appears to be as hungry as ever when asked about his main goal for 2026.

“One of my biggest goals will be Roland-Garros, but that goal is still far away,” said Sinner in an interview with UBI Tennis.

“We’ve seen that all players have struggled throughout their careers, but I wouldn’t call this ‘fatigue’ yet; I’ve only lost a couple of matches.

“I also have to remember what I’ve done in the last three years, where I’ve won a lot of matches and lost very few.”

Reflecting on the defeat to Mensik in more detail, Sinner insists there is no reason to panic and is confident of finding some consistency building up to the second Grand Slam of the year.

“It’s a match that went how it went. Now let’s see where we can improve. We’re serene, there’s no disaster,” he added to reporters.

“Obviously, we are working to win as many matches as possible, these are moments that happen, and I’m okay. I will dig myself out of this, I’m sure of it.

“In the first set, he served very, very well, 90% first serves and very angled, I had few chances to break.

“I tried to push, but I couldn’t as much as I want. In the third set I started bad and got a break that I couldn’t get back anymore.

“Nothing bad happened, we’re serene. We’ll try to get the confidence back.

“It’s moments that can happen, every player went through it. I’m really calm, I’m sure the work will pay off, results will come. Maybe not at Indian Wells or Miami, but the work will pay off. It’s okay.

“It’s normal to go through difficult moments. I’ve had tougher ones in the past, I know how to come back.”
