A major motorway is expected to remain closed for hours following a police incident. All four lanes on the M3 in Surrey were closed eastbound between J4 (near Farnborough) and J3 (near Bracknell) on Sunday morning, due to a police-led incident, National Highways said. The Junction 4 entry slip road was also closed. 

Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service rushed to the scene, where they were supported by National Highways traffic officers. Due to the nature of the incident, National Highways said, the road is expected to remain closed throughout the morning. 

Police said “the road is currently closed between the two junctions and is likely to remain closed until this afternoon”.
