The much-loved period adaptation, inspired by James Herriot’s classic veterinary stories, wrapped up its sixth series with an emotional Christmas Eve episode set in 1945, as the Second World War drew to a close.
To mark the end of Series 6, the official All Creatures Great and Small team shared a touching message on social media, thanking viewers for their continued support after winning at the TV awards earlier this month.

The team said: “What an honour to be named Best Drama Series at the TV Choice Awards on Monday night.
“Thank you to every single person who voted and supported Series 6. Your support truly means the world to us.
“Massive congratulations to Channel 5 on winning Favourite Channel / Streaming Service.”
Set in the fictional village of Darrowby and primarily filmed in Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales, the series has become a love letter to rural England.
Other filming locations include Broughton Hall and Oakworth Station, while The Devonshire Inn doubles as The Drovers Arms and the Stripey Badger bookshop is transformed into Endelby’s Grocers on screen.
The latest series followed James, Helen, Siegfried and Tristan as they navigated a time of profound change and healing in the aftermath of war.
The show’s popularity continues to grow overseas, with the cast recently promoting the series in America during its broadcast on PBS.
In a series of promotional videos, the stars reflected on the show’s time jump and revealed the lines and scenes fans most often quote back to them.
With Series 7 and 8 already planned, viewers can look forward to returning to Darrowby for more heartwarming stories from Skeldale House.
