A Liverpool-based dance act stunned the judges on Saturday night’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent, with fans tipping them as early favourites to win. The popular ITV programme made its return on the evening of Saturday, February 21 with Ant and Dec presenting the nationwide search for talent.

During the episode, the judges encountered dancers from LMA – a creative arts university with campuses in Liverpool, London and Newcastle. The audition saw dancers from the Liverpool campus, which is based in the Metquarter, take to the stage.

The audition featured a highly synchronised dance, titled “Murmuration”, which is the work of French choreographer Sadeck Berrabah.

Dancers performed in black and white ensembles with the dance’s title referring to the mesmerising formations made by flying birds.

The audition was met with high praise from judges including Amanda Holden who said: “That was as different and exceptional as it gets. I’ve never seen anything like it”.

Simon Cowell added: “Wow, wow, wow. I loved that audition.”

Alesha Dixon said: “I thought that it was beautiful, really, really beautiful. The way you commanded it was just so strong and central to all of it. Sensational.”

KSI went on to say: “Visually, my eyes loved it. This is a good watch and it’s the type where you can’t make a mistake. You were all on point and killed it.”

Sadeck, who got his break with a viral YouTube dance video and has gone on to work for pop acts such as Shakira and Black Eyed Peas, was invited by an impressed Simon to the stage during the episode.

Simon praised the choreographer for his “on-point” routine, adding: “What you do is incredible.”

Fans were equally impressed, with numerous viewers tipping the group as potential winners due to their distinctive performance.

One viewer said on X: “Ooo, have we just seen this year’s winner?” while another commented: “Defo finalists, they were so good.”

A third person remarked: “Finally a dance act bringing something different to the table,” while another viewer similarly shared: “LMA wow indeed all in sync All in time well done to every single person Liverpool should be so proud!”
