The Privacy Display in action: A Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra owner demonstrates the feature in a new video
A very early adopter of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has recorded a hands-on video that shows the arguably most interesting new display feature, which can be particularly useful when receiving private messages in public spaces.
Shortly after the first real hands-on photos of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra appeared on YouTube after a retailer in Dubai jumped the gun and already unveiled the new Android phone. Samsung’s white flagship will not be officially unveiled until Wednesday, but it is apparently already being sold off the record, so we can likely expect more reports and hands-on videos over the next few days.
Either way, the early adopter has now also recorded a video and specifically demonstrates the probably most interesting new display feature, which has been mentioned in numerous leaks. With the so-called Privacy Display, users can skip privacy screen protectors since the Galaxy S26 Ultra display effectively has one integrated. Turning it on in settings causes the pixels in Samsung’s AMOLED panel to significantly narrow the viewing angle, which is usually not helpful but can make sense in public.
For example, this could be useful for users who exchange private messages or photos, receive sensitive information like passwords on public transit or right next to coworkers at the office. Users could also enable the Privacy Display for online banking, since it greatly reduces the chance that someone else catches a glimpse of your current account balance. As the video shows, the display gets noticeably darker from the side, though it does not turn completely black. Exclusive Galaxy S26 Ultra colors that will be offered at Samsung’s official online store have also emerged today.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
