A teenager has died following a stabbing in a Coventry Street. West Midlands Police has confirmed that a murder investigation is underway following what as been described as a ‘incident of disorder’ on Broad Street.

An 18-year-old, who has not been identified, was found with serious injuries near to Foleshill Library. He was taken to hospital but sadly passed away.

Another man, who has not been identified, was found outside Dixy Chicken on Foleshill Road with several slash wounds to his hand and arm.

Broad Street has been cordoned off with a blue tent set-up outside the library.

Part of Foleshill Road is also covered by a police cordon.

The force has confirmed that a 19-year-old, who has not been identified, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in police custody where he is due to be questioned.

No futher details on the incident, which took place at 9.40pm last night (February 22), have been revealed.

But police are appealing for any witnesses in the area to come forward.

“We were called following disorder outside Foleshill Library on Broad Street at around 9.40pm. An 18-year-old man was found with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he later passed away.
