A new music festival coming to Plymouth this summer has just announced not one, but three, massive boybands who will take to the stage on the first day of the weekend-long event in June.
Discovery Festival, which held in its inaugural event in Dundee, Scotland last summer, will now come to Plymouth this August, with three days of unmissable live music at Central Park on June 12-14.
The festival had previously announced that Saturday, June 13, will have an ’80s Calling’ theme, with a line-up including Kim Wilde, Level 42, and headline act, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD).
And now, the Friday line-up for June 12 has been revealed: featuring iconic ’00s boybands Blue and The Wanted 2.0, with ‘Keep On Movin” hitmakers, Five, headlining the opening night of the festival.
Day tickets for the Friday will be available later this week, from Friday, February 27, and start at £46 plus booking fees for general admission.
Meanwhile, if you don’t want to miss a moment of the event, weekend tickets are out now, costing £126 for general admission, or £231 for VIP tickets (plus booking fees).
With a career spanning over 25 years, pop sensations Five are known for energetic feel-good hits including Keep On Movin’, Everybody Get Up, and If Ya Gettin’ Down.
Following their much-anticipated comeback tour in 2025, they are set to deliver a sing-along stacked performance with all the crowd-pleasing classics and choreography fans love.
The band said: “Headlining Friday in Plymouth feels incredible for us. Having last performed in Plymouth in 2013 we can’t wait to see you all again.
“The love we’ve felt on this comeback tour has been overwhelming and reminded us just how special our fans are. We can’t wait to bring that energy to Discovery Festival and open the weekend in style.”

Meanwhile, this year marks 25 years since Blue released their debut album, All Rise – and having recently released their seventh studio album, Reflections, just last month, the four-piece remain one of the most enduring forces of British pop.
And opening the Friday line-up at Discovery Festival will be Max George and Siva Kaneswaran of The Wanted, who have now rebranded under the name The Wanted 2.0.
The band, which originally formed as a five-piece in 2009, are known for chart-topping hits including All Time Low and Glad You Came. Their new chapter promises to celebrate the boyband’s legacy with a high-energy show packed with nostalgic hits, but with a fresh edge.
Liz Hobbs MBE, CEO of Discovery Festival Ltd, said: “After the huge excitement of our first announcement, we’re back with the next wave for Discovery Festival in Plymouth, and it’s amazing. Get ready for Five, Blue, and The Wanted 2.0 coming to Central Park in June.
“These chart-topping legends will have festivalgoers dancing, cheering, and singing every anthem loud and proud. Whether you know every lyric or are discovering these classics for the first time, this is a party you won’t want to miss on Friday 12th June.
“There’s a limited VIP space adjacent to the stage if you fancy coming in style, and if you need to sit then one standard style picnic chair per person is allowed in the main concert area due to limited capacity.
“We can see so many people have already signed up for OMD, so if you haven’t yet, make sure you’re signed up to grab the cheapest tickets available, with more discounts available on multi-day tickets if you sign up now at www.discoveryfestival.co.uk.
“We’re all so excited to be back in Plymouth this summer, and can’t wait to share more news for the weekend soon, too.”
Don’t miss your chance to be part of Plymouth’s biggest weekend of live music this summer. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 27, at 10am, with 1-day, 2-day and 3-day weekend tickets available.
Tickets are available from the Discovery Festival website, or directly from Ticketmaster or Eventim.
