A September 15, 2026 release date for Marvel’s Wolverine was officially confirmed in a surprise post from Insomniac Games on X. For everyone who’s been waiting for more news about this X-Men fan-favorite’s new game, that’s some pretty exciting news.
Marvel’s Wolverine Finally Has A Release Date
The release date for Marvel’s Wolverine is September 15, 2026. That’s going to contribute to a pretty stacked Fall, since both the Fable reboot and a little game called Grand Theft Auto 6 are also releasing in the later part of the year. It’ll be interesting to see how gamers spend their time, since none of these titles will presumably have quick playthroughs.
The new reveal for Marvel’s Wolverine certainly creates even more hype. We know we’re getting a bloody, M-rated affair this time around, and everything we’ve seen from Marvel’s Wolverine certainly showcases that. Logan’s own comic book run has been one filled with carnage and plenty of expletives, so the new game looks to be in line with those comics, which is pretty great.
It’s Been A Long Road For Marvel’s Wolverine
Still, Marvel’s Wolverine hasn’t had it easy. It’s good to finally have a release date, but the years since the game’s big reveal have been fraught with delay rumors, heartbreaking leaks, and fans getting frustrated over the perceived silence from developer Insomniac. Hopefully, this surprise update puts some of that to rest.
Marvel’s Wolverine was first revealed way back in 2021, and then was a victim of a massive leak about two years ago. During that time, Insomniac Games released Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is set in the same game universe, and stayed mostly quiet on Marvel’s Wolverine until a new trailer premiered last year and promised a Fall 2026 release window.
Now, everyone should be able to rest easy since we have a concrete release date to enjoy. The release date really isn’t that far off, but it certainly feels longer if you’re excited about Insomniac’s latest superhero game. Everything about Marvel’s Wolverine looks awesome, and as a fan of the comics, I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
