Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has revealed there are certain Theresa McQueen scenes that she struggles with. The actor welcomed her second child, daughter Peony, back in December 2024, and also has a son called Forest, whom she gave birth to two years before.
The star – who recently returned to the soap after her maternity leave – has now admitted that she couldn’t be more different to her on-screen character when it comes to parenting, explaining that she has to “fight against” certain plot points based on her natural instincts.
“Well, Theresa just left the country all the time, so she kind of didn’t really raise her children,” she told The Mirror. “I have to fight against things, because Theresa is so different and not the greatest mum.
“I have to call upon my thoughts and remember that Theresa wouldn’t do things a certain way, whereas I really would. So it’s a fight between acting it out as me or as Theresa.”
Speaking further about how Hollyoaks has given her glimpses of the future teenage years, Jorgie shared: “Theresa’s dealing with a different type of parenting at the minute. So it’s like the future, and I’m actually asking other people what’s happening now at this age, because I’m not there yet.

“The script of what’s happening is not how I would handle things if it was me and my children. So there’s future moments, and actually I should have taken notes with Theresa sooner.”
Meanwhile, last year the star explained the sweet reason why herself and fiancé Oliver Piotrowski had chosen the name Peony for their daughter.

“We’d not heard of anyone with the name Peony and I love the flowers, they’re so beautiful,” she told OK! during an interview. “But we were literally desperate to tell people her name before someone else had a baby and chose it before us! We didn’t give her a middle name because she’s Peony Porter Piotrowski which is already quite a lot for a kid to say, isn’t it?”
Jorgie added: “Honestly, it was the longest time. Margot Robbie had her baby about a week after she announced her pregnancy – I was pregnant for what felt like 100 years! The trouble was that my bump popped really early so I couldn’t hide it.”
