Premier League presenter Steve Bower has revealed what Peter Schmeichel first thought about Senne Lammens when Manchester United signed the shot-stopper.
Senne Lammens was the final Manchester United summer signing of the 2025 transfer window under the Ineos regime at Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper arrived during the reign of Ruben Amorim and the Red Devils agreed an initial fee of £18.1m to sign him from Royal Antwerp.
Lammens left his native homeland and made the move to England on deadline day last September, with the Belgium international already impressing at the club.

Senne Lammens has ascended to the Manchester United No 1 role in the 2025-26 campaign after Andre Onana was offloaded to Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor in 2025.
The former Royal Antwerp ace has kept five clean sheets in 22 matches across all competitions for United in his debut season with the Premier League club.
Speaking during Premier League Productions’ coverage for Man Utd’s 1-0 win over Everton on Monday, Michael Owen admitted that Lammens had impressed him.

“Yeah, really impressive, he said.
“I mean, because you say, it’s been a problem position. It has been. And I think they’ve almost stumbled on Lammens in many ways.”
Steve Bower singled out the “stumbled” remark that Michael Owen made and added that not even Red Devils legend Peter Schmeichel had heard of Lammens before.
“Well, you say stumbled,” he said.
“Let’s give some credit to the recruitment team because he went under the radar. I mean, the day he signed, I text[ed] Peter Schmeichel.
“You know what Peter Schmeichel said? And he watches goalkeepers everywhere. He said, ‘I’ve never heard of him, Steve.’”
Senne Lammens has been a Man Utd revelation and a breath of fresh air at Old Trafford this season
Schmeichel has been a big fan of Lammens since the Belgium and Red Devils ace has quickly settled into life at United after he made the move to Old Trafford.
Lammens has been a commanding presence in the United area and has not suffered the same error-prone performances of Andre Onana or Altay Bayindir so far.
The Red Devils player became the club’s No 1 under ex-United manager Ruben Amorim and has maintained his role under interim boss Michael Carrick as well.
Three of Lammens’ five Premier League sheets have come under United legend Michael Carrick since Amorim was sacked as Red Devils manager last month.
