Metallica have announced they will be holding an eight-show residency at the Las Vegas Sphere this October.
In an Instagram Story shared Wednesday, the heavy metal band posted a clip of the iconic venue lit up with the news, along with a link to their website with all the details.
“Surprise! The world’s worst-kept secret is now official… we are bringing our No Repeat Weekends to Sphere in Las Vegas this fall!!” reads a joint statement on the website.
“We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months’ time and way f***in psyched to go next level, it’s completely uncharted territory! This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with you guys in a live setting, and we can’t wait to see you there!” they added, teasing, “As you’ve come to expect, each set of shows will be No Repeat Weekends, meaning if you attend both the Thursday and Saturday shows, you will not hear the same song twice.”
The scheduled dates include October 1 & 3, October 15 & 17, October 22 & 24, and October 29 & 31.

Tickets will go on sale March 6 at 10am PT, with several presales over the next week and a half. For fans interested in the presale, each weekend has different presale times, which can be found and registered for on Metallica’s website.
The Fan Club presale will begin Monday, March 2, followed by the Ticketmaster presale Tuesday, March 3. Live Nation, SiriusXM and the Sphere will hold their own presales later in the week.
The four-piece “Master of Puppets” band — comprised of drummer Lars Ulrich, frontman James Hetfield, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo — revealed that their Life Burns Faster set lists will span the entire catalog.
“Whether you’ve seen us from the upper reaches of a stadium or arena, at an intimate club or theater gig, or from the Snake Pit, Sphere’s technology will present an entirely new live experience for everyone in the house…including us!” they said.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by Ulrich and Hetfield, Metallica have released a total of 11 studio albums. They are best known for their third album, Master of Puppets, released in 1986. They released their most recent album, 72 Seasons, in 2023. That same year, they kicked off their massive ongoing M72 tour in support of the album, which they will bring back to Europe this summer.
