The other day, after stepping into her bathroom, one homeowner in Australia was suddenly struck with the uncanny feeling that she was being watched.

And she wasn’t wrong.

Perched overhead on the upper frame of her shower door was a tiny face looking down at her.

At first glance, it would have been very easy to miss.

That face belonged to a snake who somehow managed to sneak his way indoors and into the bathroom. But he didn’t go unnoticed.

“The homeowner was just about to jump in the shower when she found him sitting on the shower door,” Heather of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 told The Dodo.

The slender Peeping Tom had been caught — and he wasn’t eager to leave.

“[The homeowner] waited him out for a while, but it became pretty obvious he wasn’t planning on moving anytime soon,” Heather said. So, the homeowner called for assistance in returning the snake to the outside.

The scaly intruder, a common tree snake measuring about 2 1/2 feet long, was harmless to people, but the homeowner’s bathroom was far from a suitable place for him to reside.

“The owners absolutely love their wildlife, but this little guy clearly took a wrong turn!” Heather said. “Luckily, we’ve got a few tricks for situations like this — and about five minutes later, he was safely secured in my bag.”

Before long, the homeowner’s bathroom was snake-free once again.

“He was released on the property,” Heather said, “none the worse for his indoor adventure!”
