Super League

The team news is out for Saturday’s Super League games with two games taking place ahead of the clash in Las Vegas.

Warrington Wolves will be looking to build on their strong start to the season as they take on Wakefield Trinity at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Sam Burgess’ side beat St Helens in round one before their week off last week, while Wakefield picked up their first win of the season on Sunday against Huddersfield Giants.

Catalans Dragons will be keen to set the record straight after their wretched performance last Friday at Bradford Bulls as they host the Saints, who have lost two or three key men to injury in recent weeks.

Here’s a look as the 21-man squads.

Catalans Dragons v St Helens

St Helens boss Paul Rowley has made just one change to his Saints side, with Jonny Lomax dropping out of the fold, as expected. Lomax dislocated his wrist last week and is set for a few weeks on the sidelines at least.

Noah Stephens comes into the fold in Lomax’s place after overcoming an injury of his own, while Nene Macdonald has been given the benefit of the doubt. The centre was forced off through injury last Friday, but Rowley admitted earlier this week that he was hopeful on the outside back’s fitness.

Joel Tomkins has made two changes to his Catalans squad, with Matty Russell coming in for a potential debut after joining in the week, and Ben Garcia returning from suspension. Chris Satae and Julian Bousquet are the pair to drop out.

Warrington Wolves v Wakefield Trinity

Warrington had the benefit of having last weekend off and they’ll be fresh and fully recovered from their win over St Helens in round one of Super League. Sam Burgess has made just one change to his 21-man squad, too, with Luke Thomas dropping out and Ewan Smith coming in.

There’s still no Matty Ashton, as he recovers from the ruptured ACL he suffered last year, while Luke Yates is set for his first appearance since penning a new long-term deal with the Wolves.

Daryl Powell has made three changes to his squad, with the return of Caius Faatili providing a big boost, while Jayden Myers and Jordan Williams are included in the fold.

However, last week’s double try scoring hero Lachlan Walmsley has dropped out of the fold alongside Mason Lino, who picked up a hamstring injury prior to the Huddersfield Giants clash last weekend. Tray Lolesio also drops out.
