Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were mocked by fans after they appeared to have been snubbed by the King and Crown Prince of Jordan during their pseudo-royal tour in the country.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex headed to the capital Amman, on Tuesday for a two-day visit to the Middle Eastern country to highlight the humanitarian efforts by the Jordanian authorities and a range of agencies supporting the health and wellbeing of Syrians and Palestinians who have sought sanctuary in Jordan over the decades.
Harry and Meghan travelled to Jordan at the invitation of Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director-general of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Despite their various engagements, including meetings with officials and Embassy staff, the Sussexes did not meet any Jordanian royals.
The King of Jordan, Abdulla II is very close to the British Royal Family and King Charles, while his son, Crown Prince Hussein, is friends with the Prince of Wales.

Queen Rania also attended Charles’s Coronation with her husband and has held various meetings with Queen Camilla to discuss women’s issues.
King Abdullah has reportedly “deliberately swerved any public meeting” with the Sussexes, opting to meet Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who invited the California-based couple, instead.
A source in Jordan told the Daily Mail: “There is no meeting scheduled between the Duke and Duchess [of Sussex] and the Jordanian Royal Family.”
Another source added: “The fact the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t met King Abdullah and been given the traditional royal welcome is glaringly obvious.
“There has been no red carpet treatment, even though King Abdullah has met officials from the World Health Organisation who have been behind this visit by the Duke and Duchess.
“It’s well known that King Abdullah and King Charles have a very warm relationship and that was passed down through the friendship between the late Queen Elizabeth and King Abdullah’s father.”
Royal fans took notice of the royal snub and took to social media to express their views.

It was my great honour to meet with His Majesty, @KingAbdullahII of Jordan, and HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II during my visit to the Kingdom, which is focused on national and regional health matters.

One user wrote on X: “No idea what they’re even doing there. Why are they still pretending to work as royals? Why don’t they just get a job? It’s all so incredibly weird, and judging by the look on his face, Harry knows it.”
Another one said: “They are not working members of the Royal Family.”
A third one added: “Well there’s a surprise NOT!! The Jordan royals can see a pair of cheap pr chasers from a mile away. Why would they lower themselves to entertain them.”
A fourth one commented: “What are these two doing? They don’t represent the United Kingdom in any shape or form, this posturing is just embarrassing.”
But others defended the couple, with one fan writing: “The Sussexes are there to do real work not to do simple things like laughing with fellow which does not impact their subjects.”
Another one said: “Harry and meghan don’t care about royalty. They are their own royalty. Why should they want to meet Abdullah or any member of his family for ?. They are there for WHO, not the kingdom of Jordan.”
