The development, put forward by Mr Palmer, would be located on land adjacent to Mill Lane in Whissonsett, between Dereham and Fakenham.

It would consist of two single-storey homes on the eastern side of the site to match the neighbouring property.

Two one-and-a-half storey homes have also been proposed on the western side of the site.

It was said that the homes would support the community in the village (Image: Archant)

In a planning statement, it was said that the homes represent “a sustainable form of development” and would help to support the services and facilities provided within the local area.

The statement added that using the site for residential purposes would help contribute to supporting the local community.

The homes, which will be self-build properties, were also highlighted as having benefits that outweigh any possible harm that could be caused.

A decision on the outline application is due to be made by Breckland Council at a later date.

The plans can be viewed in full on the council’s planning portal, using the reference PL/2026/0253/OMIN.
