Inside Stone M&S Cafe

Retail giant M&S is shutting one of its in-store cafes for good from tonight. The cafe is being axed inside the M&S Foodhall which has been open on Westbridge Park, in Stone, since 2018.

A board inside the store has confirmed the Saturday 28 February closure date.

It states: “This M&S Cafe is closing. Thank you from M&S Cafe to all our customers.”

Customer Flora Byatt is sad that the cafe is closing.

The 30-year-old, from Stone, said: “It is a shame that the cafe is closing. Stone has a large elderly population and the cafe is always well used by them. The food is always good. It also has outdoor seating by the canal and is a peaceful space. The shop is always busy and I’m sure I won’t be the only person missing the cafe.”

M&S has previously issued a statement on the fate of the Westbridge Park cafe.

M&S regional manager Katie Whelan said: “We know many of our customers want to be able to shop a wider range of M&S Food. That’s why after reviewing our Westbridge Park store, we are re-purposing the café space in-store to provide more product choice and improve the shopping experience. We understand this will be disappointing news for some of our customers however our teams will continue working hard to serve them in-store.”
