The council will be delivering a welcome pack, a five litre caddy to collect food waste in the kitchen, a roll of compostable liners to line the caddy, and an outdoor 23 litre food waste container, which will be emptied weekly.
Deliveries will start on 23 March with roll out for communal properties starting in June.
Householders will be asked to empty any food waste, such as plate scrapings, peelings and tea bags into the kitchen caddy and then transfer the waste to the new outside food waste recycling container ready for collection.
