Harry Newman of Leeds celebrates in front of the Hull KR fans
Hull KR rolled the dice in Vegas – but Willie Peters admitted his side were “beaten in every area” after a brutal 58-6 thumping by Leeds Rhinos.
The Robins were no match for Leeds at Allegiant Stadium, conceding 10 tries to Brad Arthur’s Rhinos in the entertainment capital of the world.
Peters refused to use his side’s emphatic World Club Challenge win over Brisbane Broncos nine days earlier as an excuse, and he pulled no punches in his review of Rovers’ performance.
“We were beaten in every area, and to be honest, the people I feel sorry for are the fans that paid hard earned money to come today to watch that,” he said.
“To spend or save money to come and watch their team play, and we deliver a performance like that, it’s just nowhere near good enough. We need to all look at ourselves, myself at the top of that, to find out why we got that performance.
“It certainly brought us back down to earth, that’s for sure.”
The reigning Super League champions must dust themselves off quickly, returning to East Hull to begin preparations for the Huddersfield Giants, with both sides still searching for their first points of the 2026 season.
“It’s a long flight home, and then we get back, we’re going to recover, and then it’s into Huddersfield next week,” Peters said.
“What we delivered tonight, if we’re going to deliver that, it doesn’t matter who we play – we’re in for a long season.”
